Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School for children in grades K-5 is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. June 22-26 at First Baptist Church, 411 N. Fayetteville St., Clayton.

Vacation Bible School is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 13-17 at Oakland Presbyterian Church, 8927 Cleveland Road, Clayton. VBS is for children from age 4 to rising fifth-graders. Also, the church will offer a Bible study for adults. A nursery/preschool class will be available. Register by July 4 by calling 919-934-5476.

Vacation Bible School for all ages is scheduled from 6 to 8:45 p.m. June 23-27 at Believers Baptist Church, 100 Southerland Road, Clayton. For more information, call Pastor Eugene Worley at 919-631-0817 or Kate Wilson at 919-604-3585.


A pancake and sausage breakfast is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 22, at Discovery Church, 195 N.C. 42 East, Clayton. The church's praise band will perform. Discovery Church will accept donations for the meal, with proceeds supporting its Haiti project.

A benefit for Harbor Inc. is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Mt. Vernon Christian Church, 301 N. Lombard St., Clayton. The program will feature drama, comedy, dance and music. The church will accept donations of personal hygiene items, food, snacks for children, clothing for women and children, and twin-bed items.

A tent revival is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. June 25-27 at Smith-Collins Park on East Lee Street in Smithfield.

Christ Community Church has moved to its summer schedule. That’s coffee, juice, fruit and fellowship at 9:45 a.m., morning worship at 10 a.m. and then a potluck lunch and information about upcoming activities.
