Book club

The Halcyon Book Club met recently at the home of Mrs. Irvin Smith, who had decorated her home with spring flowers, Easter bunnies and colored eggs. The dining table held lit candles and white tulips.

The hostess served pound cake from her mother’s recipe, mixed fruit and lemonade in jam jars with the Halcyon “H” tied to each jar.

For the program, each member talked about a treasure she had brought to the meeting. Jan Smith brought her father’s firefighting helmet and her grandmother’s shoes.
