Bulldogs blank Neuse Charter

Princeton stopped Neuse Charter 10-0 in five innings in a Carolina 1A Conference baseball game Thursday. Patrick Norris was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI for the Bulldogs in the victory. Jonathan Croom went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Tyler Beasley and Nick Phillips combined on the shutout. Phillips worked two innings of no-hit ball with four strikeouts. Beasley struck out four as well.

Rock Wilson and Isaiah Higgins had the Cougars’ hits.

Corinth Holders tops Southern Nash

Corinth Holders’ softball team grabbed a 1-0 win over Southern Nash Friday, a day after being shut out by Wilson Hunt, 4-0.

The Pirates scored the game’s only run in the fifth inning with Brandy Davis driving Kelsie Hocutt home with a single.

Kayla Meares was dominant on the mound, holding the Firebirds to two hits and striking out five.
