Clayton boys get defensive in playoff win over Conley

Clayton’s boys basketball team rode its defense to an easy first round 4A boys basketball playoff victory over Greenville Conley Monday night, 61-39.

The Comets (21-4) will host Durham Hillside in a second round game at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Gary Clark led Clayton with 32 points on the night, while Tre Armstead added 11.

The Comets held Conley to 18 second-half points.
