A buffet breakfast is scheduled from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at Holly Grove Advent Christian Church, 2050 Holly Grove Church Road, Benson. The menu will feature country ham and sausage.

Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, in the fellowship center at Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church, 1458 Wood-Lee Road near Blackman’s Crossroads.

Gospel music

Full Reliance, a gospel music group, will sing at at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church, 677 Hood’s Grove Church Road, Newton Grove. For more information, call 919-894-5977.

The Atkinsons will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Baker’s Chapel Ministries, 2412 Baker’s Chapel Road, Smithfield.

The gospel music group Highway Revival will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Burnell Baptist Church, 3720 Old School Road, Four Oaks.

Golf tournament

A golf tournament to benefit Baker’s Chapel Ministries will tee off at 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the Cardinal Country Club, 363 Parrish Memorial Road, Selma. Registration will begin at noon; a reception will follow the completion of play. For more information, call Elaine Mozingo at 919-989-7615.

Bishop R.B. Mott, pastor of Small Chapel Church near Newton Grove, will speak at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Miracle Temple Church on Webb Street in Selma.

A Black History Month program is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Avery Grove AME Zion Church, 2391 Freedom Road, Smithfield. Evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield will speak.

The Rev. Barry W. Russell of Durham will speak at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Mitchener Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 911 Blount St., Smithfield. The Rev. Barry McFarland, an associate minister at Good Samaritan Baptist Church in Garner, will speak at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 23.

New Generation Christian Church will hold its first “Friday Night Live” service at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the church, 4423 Wilson’s Mills Road, Smithfield. For more information, call 919-209-0536.

A Black History Month program is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2017 Galilee Road, Smithfield. The Rev. Quincy Scott, former dean of students at Shaw Divinity School, will speak.

Revival services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 16 and 7 p.m. Feb. 17-19 at New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 5312 Meadowbrook Road near Benson. The Rev. Preston Heath will speak.

A Founders’ Day service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at St. Mark AME Church, 409 Bridge St., Smithfield. Apostle Leroy Hargett will speak.

“March on Mission,” a missionary service, is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Hickory Grove Disciples of Christ Church, 5260 Devil’s Racetrack Road, Four Oaks. Apostle Hattie Stancil will speak. Those attending are asked to bring canned goods.

Good Samaritan United Church of Christ has begun meeting at Kid’s Clubhouse, 72 Coats Commercial Drive in the Cleveland community.
