Fundraisers

Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, in the fellowship center at Blackman’s Grove Baptist Church, 1458 Wood-Lee Road near Blackman’s Crossroads.

A spaghetti dinner is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Baker’s Chapel Ministries, 2421 Baker’s Chapel Road, Smithfield. The cost is $5 per person and includes spaghetti, salad, roll, dessert and tea.

A country breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 5312 Meadowbrook Road in the Meadow community. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger.

Auditions

Auditions for spoken-word artists, gospel rappers, poets and other performers are scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Bentonville Disciples of Christ Church, 8566 Devil’s Race Track Road, Four Oaks. The auditions are open to people ages 13 to 39. Those chosen will perform at the church’s Bridge Cafe from 5 to 8 p.m. March 1. For more information, call 919-915-1581.

Gospel music

Full Reliance, a gospel music group, will sing at at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church, 677 Hood’s Grove Church Road, Newton Grove. For more information, call 919-894-5977.

A gospel sing is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Smithfield Advent Christian Church at the corner of N.C. 210 and Galilee Road west of Smithfield. Full Reliance and the Hickory Grove Quartet will perform.

The Atkinsons will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Baker’s Chapel Ministries, 2412 Baker’s Chapel Road, Smithfield.

The gospel music group Highway Revival will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Burnell Baptist Church, 3720 Old School Road, Four Oaks.

Golf tournament

A golf tournament to benefit Baker’s Chapel Ministries will tee off at 1 p.m. Friday, May 23, at the Cardinal Country Club, 363 Parrish Memorial Road, Selma. Registration will begin at noon; a reception will follow the completion of play. For more information, call Elaine Mozingo at 919-989-7615.

Programs, services

A Black History Month program is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2017 Galilee Road, Smithfield. The Rev. Quincy Scott, former dean of students at Shaw Divinity School, will speak.

Revival services are scheduled for 6 p.m. Feb. 16 and 7 p.m. Feb. 17-19 at New Zealand Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 5312 Meadowbrook Road near Benson. The Rev. Preston Heath will speak.

A Founders’ Day service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at St. Mark AME Church, 409 Bridge St., Smithfield. Apostle Leroy Hargett will speak.

“March on Mission,” a missionary service, is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, at Hickory Grove Disciples of Christ Church, 5260 on Devil’s Racetrack Road, Four Oaks. Apostle Hattie Stancil will speak. Those attending are asked to bring canned goods.

A Black History Month program is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2861 Brogden Road, Smithfield. The Rev. DeAshley Curtis Jr. will speak.

Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church has added a Sunday evening worship service. It’s at 6 p.m. at the church, 112 E. Blanche St., Pine Level. For more information, call 919-965-3545.

Good Samaritan United Church of Christ has begun meeting at Kid’s Clubhouse, 72 Coats Commercial Drive in the Cleveland community. Joyful Noise, a service for families with young children, meets at 9 a.m. A fellowship hour follows. A traditional worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call the Rev.
