Corinth Community spring youth sports registration

Corinth Community Recreation is now holding registration for spring baseball, T-ball and softball for ages 4-14. Register online at ccrpirates.com or in person at Corinth-Holders Elementary School (3976 Highway 231, Zebulon) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Saturday through Feb. 1. Leagues are filled on a first come, first served basis and if teams are filled children are put on a wait list. The cost is $60 for baseball and softball and $40 for T-ball. Each additional child in the family registering for a league is $50 for baseball or softball and $35 for T-ball.

Area Shrine Bowl combine

South Johnston High School will host one of five area Shrine Bowl combines for rising seniors on April 26. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by drills beginning at 10 a.m. (kickers) and 11 a.m. (all other positions). Players will be measured and tested in the vertical jump, 40-yard dash, agility shuttle and bench press reps (185 pounds) and evaluated using position-specific drills. The clinics give players the chance to showcase their skills for potential scholarship offers and possible Shrine Bowl selection. The cost is $20 per player (cash only). Coaches and fans are admitted free of charge.

Johnston Horse Show Series for 2014

The Johnston County Horse Show Series dates for 2014 are set. These are open horse shows dedicated to offering a fun and exciting show that is open to all riding disciplines and equine breeds. Dates for 2014 are March 1, April 5, May 10, June 28, Aug. 9-10 (at Hunt Horse Complex, Raleigh), Sept. 20, Oct. 25 and Nov. 22. Hunter Horse Shows for 2014

Senior golf tournaments

Winter junior golf classics

Club Corp Winter Junior Golf Classics will be held Feb. 1 (Devils Ridge Golf Club, 919-557-6101) and Feb. 9 (The Neuse Golf Club, 919-550-0550). Registration is $40 per event and all begin with 2:30 p.m. shotgun starts.
