A soup and sandwich lunch is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church, 677 Hood’s Grove Church Road, Newton Grove. The church will accept donations for the meal, with proceeds going to mission work.

Burnell Baptist Church will hold its 12th annual wildlife supper and auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, in the Family Life Center, 3720 Old School Road, Four Oaks. The church will give away door prizes, including $150. For more information, call the Rev. Jessie Brock at 919-894-1418.

Gospel music

The Dixie Travelers will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Saint Mary’s Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, 7987 Raleigh Road, Benson. Admission is free; the church will collect an offering for the group. For more information, call 919-894-1784.

For older adults

The JOY Connection of First Presbyterian Church in Smithfield will meet at noon Thursday, Feb. 6, at the church, 215 S. Third St. Billy Duncan and Ann Huckenbeck will prepare lunch, and Rich Huckenbeck and Benny Pope will sing. For reservations, call the church office at 919-934-0988.

Programs, services

A Missionary Day service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, 2017 Galilee Road, Smithfield. The program will include presentations on the theme “The Seven Ships of Zion.” Also, the church’s youth will sing and dance.

Pine Level Pentecostal Holiness Church has added a Sunday evening worship service. It’s at 6 p.m. at the church, 112 E. Blanche St., Pine Level. For more information, call 919-965-3545.

Grace Episcopal Church will welcome its new vicar, Dr. John Gibson, at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, at the church, 111 Lee Court, Clayton. Gibson has served congregations in Cary, Apex and Raleigh. Lunch will follow the service.

Good Samaritan United Church of Christ has begun meeting at Kid’s Clubhouse, 72 Coats Commercial Drive in the Cleveland community. Joyful Noise, a service for families with young children, meets at 9 a.m. A fellowship hour follows. A traditional worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call the Rev.
