Parents: Patrick and Mary Ann Tormey

High School: Clayton

Why St. Andrews? “I liked the small of the school and I felt like I fit in well on the team. Plus they offer a therapeutic equine business program.”

Notable: Ginny hopes to run cross country and track and become a member of the St. Adnrews equestrian team if she can work out the scheduling. She’s been riding horses for 11 years and has become active in therapeutic hose riding programs. … Competing against the clock, Ginny finished fourth at the Greater Neuse River 4A Conference cross country championships in October, setting a personal best time and beating her sister and training partner, Carmen. “Working with my sister made it more fun,” Ginny said. “We motivated each other to get better.” … She was a state championship qualifier and a four-year letter winner in cross country. … Ginny will run the mile, 800 or 3,200 (meters) in track.
