Clothing giveaway

Red Hill United Church of Christ will give away clothing and household items from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the church, 10412 Buffalo Road, Clayton. For more information, call 919-989-5902.

Fall fundraisers

Pine Level First United Methodist Church is taking orders for grilled hams and turkeys. They’re $40 and will be available for pickup between 4 and 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the Town Market, 1700 U.S. 70-A, Pine Level. To place an order, call the Town Market at 919-965-5271. A bake sale will begin at 8 a.m. that day.

White Oak Baptist Church will hold its fall bazaar Friday, Nov. 22, at the Archer Lodge Community Center, 14009 Buffalo Road. Soups, sandwiches, hot dogs and desserts will go on sale at 6 p.m. Crafts and baked goods will go on sale at 6:30 p.m. A silent auction will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and the church will give away door prizes throughout the evening. A bazaar is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Oakland Presbyterian Church, 8927 Cleveland Road in the Cleveland community. Shoppers will find homemade food and crafts. “Gospel Explosion, a day of praise and worship music, is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Perpetual Covenant Fellowship Ministries, 800 McKay Place, Lillington. The church invites choirs, Christian music groups and soloists to perform. For more information, call 919-793-8495.

A Thanksgiving Day worship service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28, at Wesley Chapel AME Church, 867 Cleveland Road, Smithfield.

Awana, a program designed to develop spiritually strong children, meets from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesdays at Bethesda Baptist Church, 4967 U.S. 70 Business West between Clayton and Smithfield. Awana is for children from 2 years old to fifth grade. For more information, or to register, visit

Edgerton Memorial United Methodist Church in Selma has resumed its Mother’s Morning Out program. The free program cares for children ages 3-5 while their moms run errands, clean house, go to appointments or simply take a break. It offers activities, stories, music, playtime and Bible lessons.
