For children, families

Hallelujah Night is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Baptist Center Church, 2163 Ranch Road, Clayton. The event will offer free candy, a cakewalk, hay ride, inflatables and games.

Family Fun Night will get underway at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Shiloh Christian Church, 211 Durham St., Smithfield. The event will offer food, games and activities for children. For more information, call 919-934-0278.

A fall festival is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Fellowship United Methodist Church, 5755 Rains Crossroads Road, Princeton. The festival will feature hot dogs and games.

Trunk or Treat is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Believers Baptist Church, 100 Southerland Road, Clayton. The event will feature games, candy, inflatables, hot dogs and drinks. For more information, call 919-255-0629.

Trunk or Treat is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Wilson’s Mills Christian Church, 179 Fire Department Road, Wilson’s Mills. The evening will begin with a short worship service. Food and crafts will follow in the fellowship hall at 6 p.m. Afterward, treats will be available in the parking lot. Costumes are welcome, but no scary ones.

Awana, a program designed to develop spiritually-strong children, meets from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Wednesdays at Bethesda Baptist Church, 4967 U.S. 70 Business West between Clayton and Smithfield. The festival will feature Trunk or Treat, games with prizes, inflatables, door prizes and free food. A grill-off, cupcake wars and pumpkin-carving competitions will also be held.

Fundraising meals

An Italian supper is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Grace Episcopal Church, 111 Lee Court, Clayton. The cost is $8 per plate and includes chicken Parmesan, salad, bread sticks, dessert and a drink. For more information, call 919-553-2810.

Fall fundraisers

A bazaar is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at Oakland Presbyterian Church, 8927 Cleveland Road in the Cleveland community. Shoppers will find homemade food and crafts. For older adults

The next meeting of JOY Connection is scheduled for noon Thursday, Nov. 7, at First Presbyterian Church, 215 S. Third St., Smithfield. Kyle Lock of Butterball Turkeys will speak, and the group will serve a meal of turkey with traditional trimmings. JOY Connection is for adults 60 and older. For more information, call 919-934-0988.

“Gospel Explosion, a day of praise and worship music, is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, at Perpetual Covenant Fellowship Ministries, 800 McKay Place, Lillington. The church invites choirs, Christian music groups and soloists to perform. For more information, call 919-793-8495.

Sounds of Hope, a gospel music group, will perform at 6 p.m Sunday, Oct. 27, at Smithfield First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1000 Wilsons Mills Road, Smithfield. Admission is free; the church will collect an offering for the group.

A men’s conference will take place Nov. 1-2 at Quest Fellowship, 5120 Raynor Road, Garner. Ilario Pantano, a former marine who led combat troops in Iraq, will speak. Pantano is director of the N.C. Division of Veterans Affairs. The conference opens with registration at 6:30 p.m. Friday. The Saturday session opens at 9 a.m. with breakfast. The cost is $29 in advance and $39 at the door. Through Nov. 3, Little Creek Fellowship is offering “New Beginnings,” a biblical perspective on current events, at 7 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Child care is available. The church is at 2585 Little Creek Church Road, Clayton.

Edgerton Memorial United Methodist Church in Selma has resumed its Mother’s Morning Out program. The free program cares for children ages 3-5 while their moms run errands, clean house, go to appointments or simply take a break. It offers activities, stories, music, playtime and Bible lessons.
