McIntyre has lost his vote
My congressman, Mike McIntyre, described his vote on the shutdown in typical political double talk. “My vote … was a positive move… .”
When one votes with the “tyranny of the minority” such as the Tea Party, Ted Cruz and Ron Paul knowing it will keep the status quo in the current crisis, such twisted logic escapes one’s critical thinking skills.
Most independent polls taken of members of Congress clearly reveal that there are enough votes in the House of Representative to pass a clean bill to get the U.S. government up and running, at least on a temporary basis. Our congressman knows this.
However, Mr. McIntyre takes the politically expedient road in his new and more conservative district and votes as he did with a view toward the 2014 election cycle.
He lost me.
