Are we selling out our morals and values?
Why are many of our products made in China and other countries? Have we priced ourselves out of the market with big salaries to CEOs, politicians, lawyers, company presidents, sports figures, et cetera? Can we not produce products as good as or better than other countries? Why not reduce salaries and reduce wasteful spending so that we might be able to compete with these foreign countries?
Why have our morals and decency deteriorated in America? Nakedness is displayed at beaches, on our streets, in homes and in churches. Exposure of buttocks, bellies and breasts is common. Dress used to be more decent at home than now in public.
Gambling used to be ungodly. We decided the lottery (a form of gambling) was helpful in supporting education. But since support from gambling and sex education teaching have become important to our educational system, we have more financial problems. Another factor in our schools is the Bible and prayer have been pushed out. Who dare says schools are better financially, safer and more decent?
Another subject prompting me to write this letter was the positive response to a proposed ABC store in Princeton. I read that C.A. Joyner and Swade Carroll of the ABC Board had said they had encountered opposition to the ABC store. There is expectation of $600,000 a year from this business. Will the tax from this money justify the results from drinking this alcohol? How much property damage, dangerous driving, sorrow and grief will come from drinking of this liquor? Read Proverbs 23:31-32 and Habakkuk 2:15.
