at Clayton (3-0), 7
Clayton finishes up its four-week run against Johnston County opponents by hosting the rival Spartans, who dropped another game last week (46-14 to a talented Middle Creek squad) but showed a lot of improvement. The challenge for SSS, which hasnt beaten Clayton since 2006, is to slow down one of the most productive rushing attacks in the state: Claytons wing-T. The Comets are dealing with mounting injuries, which are forcing players into bigger and/or different roles.

Bunn (1-2) at
Corinth Holders (2-1), 7:30
Corinth Holders improvement on defense has been one of the biggest factors in its impressive start two wins and a narrow loss to 3-0 Clayton. That unit gets a big challenge here from the Wildcats, which features one of the fastest groups of running backs around.

Cleveland (2-1) at
Green Hope (2-1), 7:30
Two teams with very similar starts to the season (tough week one losses, followed by back-to-back wins) get together for the first time. After giving up 84 points in its first game and a half, Clevelands defense has come into its own in the last six quarters.
Player of the Week

Clayton Head Coach
Its great to see the defense doing what its designed to do. Were going to give up some yardage but were limiting the big plays. Matt Williams, our defensive backs coach, is doing a super job with the kids and the kids are doing a great job of executing our game plan.
