Clayton boards seek members
The town of Clayton is seeking residents to join its advisory boards. The boards include the Board of Adjustment, the Downtown Development Association, the Clayton Library Board, the Planning and Zoning Board, the Clayton Recreation Advisory Committee, the Fire Department Advisory Board and the Public Art Advisory Board. Terms are for three years.
Board members must attend regular and special meetings. Meeting times and locations are posted at www.townofclaytonnc.org. For more information, call the town clerk’s office at 919-553-5002.
DMV tips, tricks

The N.C. Department of Commerce has launched a new job search website called N.C. Works Online.
N.C. Works Online is a no-fee service available to job seekers and employers. To access the site, visit www.ncworks.gov.
The Clayton Downtown Development Association seeks volunteers to help plan and implement a number of initiatives to make the public more aware of downtown Clayton. An organizational Promotion Committee meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, in Room GS-223 of the Town Hall, 111 E. Second St., Clayton.
Volunteers will foster promotional partnerships, start a downtown bucks program and create after-event promotions.
