Youth fall sports registration
Registration for fall youth soccer, softball and volleyball with the Clayton Parks and Recreation Department is open this month. Open registration runs June 17-28. Soccer is for ages 4-7 (as of July 31) and runs from August through October. Softball for ages 7-18 (as of Jan. 1, 2014) will be a Johnston and Wake County-based league. The season runs August through October as well. Volleyball for girls ages 9-14 (as of Aug. 1) will run from August until November. Fees for all leagues are $25 for residents or annual members; $60 for nonresidents.
Adult coed soccer
An adult coed seven-on-seven soccer league for ages 18 and older is open for registration through July 15. The cost is $350 per team, plus $40 per nonresident on the roster. Games will be played at East Clayton Community Park beginning in late August and running through October. Six teams are required to offer the league and 12 team slots are available. Register at the Clayton Community Center.
Fall adult softball leagues
Men’s and coed fall softball league (for ages 18 and up) registration for residents is open until July 15. The fee is $550 per team plus a $40 fee per nonresident of the town of Clayton. Games are played at Clayton Municipal Park and Clayton Community Park. Six teams are needed to offer the league. Register at the Clayton Parks Department.
A combination of kickboxing moves, as well as fun dance moves, paired with high energy and motivating music help create the ultimate cardiovascular workout in this six-week class, which begins June 13.
Classes last and hour and are for ages 16 and older. The cost is $20 for residents/$35 for others.
