Women’s Day

•  Women’s Day at St. Augustine African Methodist Episcopal Church is 11 a.m. Sunday, May 5, at 405 E. Stallings St., Clayton.

Shred event

•  First Baptist Church will hold a free paper shred event 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at 411 N. Fayetteville St., Clayton. For information, call 919-553-4161. This service is for individuals, not businesses.

Basketball tournament

First Missionary Baptist Church will host a three-on-three basketball tournament and recreation day 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, at 403 E. Caswell St., Smithfield. Food, clothing pantries

•  Everett Chapel Original Free Will Baptist Church, 307 Everett Ave., Clayton, accepts clean, gently-used clothing items and has used clothing to give away to needy families. For information, call 919-553-5236.

•  Feed My Sheep food pantry is open the second Saturday of the month 9 a.m.-noon at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 1082 Amelia Church Road, Clayton. For information, call 919-553-9770.

•  Hope Church is having a free yard sale 7-9 a.m. Saturday, May 18 (with a rain date of June 1), in the parking lot at Amelia Church, 1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton.

Hope Church will provide clothing, baby items, furniture and other household goods. They are also accepting donated items and will pick up donations. To donate items, call 919 612-2029.
