Cleveland’s teams were swept in the Eastern Carolina 3A Conference tournament first round by Southern Wayne with the girls falling, 48-38, and the boys dropping a 54-48 decision. The Ram girls were 12-13 on the season and the boys finished 6-19.
Miranda Hinton had 16 points for the Rams in the girls loss, while Cheyenne Wall and Brittany Preston contributed nine each.
West Johnston teams ousted: West Johnston had the tough task of drawing No. 1 seeds in both the girls and boys Greater Neuse River 4A Conference tournaments and took losses to Garner’s boys (87-48) and Southeast Raleigh’s girls (68-27).
The Wildcats finished 2-20 on the season in boys play and were 5-17.
