Letter: Do tighter laws protect anyone?

Published: February 16, 2013

Laws don’t stop criminals

Sen. Stan Bingham has the right idea. In your editorial published Feb. 10, you suggest tighter gun laws. How will that help keep the guns out of the criminals hands? It doesn’t . It only makes it harder for those that want guns for the protection of themselves and others. Criminals will get their guns. Mass shootings have happened in places that do not allow guns to be carried, the movie theaters and the recent school shooting. So again, how did the law protect those people?
