Corinth Holders boys basketball team won its 10th Northern Carolina 2A Conference game with a 78-42 romp over Northwest Halifax on Tuesday. The Pirates held Northwest to four points in both the first and fourth quarters.

Corinth Holders stood 10-1 and needed a win in two of its last three games to clinch the regular-season league title outright.

Pirate wrestles win again: Corinth Holders finished off an unbeaten run in the Northern Carolina 2A Conference dual wrestling season Tuesday with a 46-18 win over Franklinton. The Pirates will start the 2A dual state playoffs this Tuesday.

Darius Dunn, Dustin Brennan, Cameron Brewer Tyler Johnson, Matt Duncan, Charlie Gray, Dillon Barton, William Floyd, Elijah Harris and Chris Solano were the winners for Corinth Holders.

Cleveland clinches outright ECC dual title: Cleveland’s wrestling team downed Triton 51-15 Tuesday night to finish off an unbeaten Eastern Carolina 3A Conference dual wrestling season. The Rams will be in the dual team playoffs on Tuesday at a site to be determined.

Chandler Daughtry, Adam Collins, Derrick Applewhite, Tony Lynn, Dakota Hill, Chance Wallace, Blaine Bryant, Jacob Pickering, Bryer Rogers and Ryan Flores all won their respective matches for Cleveland.
