Local student makes dean’s list

Joshua Catalano of Clayton was named to the Chowan University Dean’s List for the fall semester with a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.79. Catalano is a senior majoring in psychology.

JCC honors outstanding engineer

Johnston Community College recently honored Jerry S. Rogers of Four Oaks for his service as a professional engineer. Rogers, who is a building engineer and construction inspector for the North Carolina Department of Administration’s State Construction Office, assisted on several building construction and renovation projects during the last 15 years, including the recent construction of the Leed Silver certified Learning Resource Center.

Rogers received a framed resolution in recognition of his dedicated service.
