Food, clothing pantries

Fundraisers

•  Powhatan Original Free Will Baptist Church will light its “Tree of Hope” at 6 p.m. Dec. 16 at 3468 Powhatan Road, Clayton. The tree-lighting ceremony honors the late Vicky Thorne Bagley and is a fundraiser for Relay for Life. Ornaments are $5 each. •  Amelia Christian Church, 1696 Amelia Church Road, Clayton, is selling Christmas trees from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 5-9 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.

Church activities

•  Wilson’s Mills Christian Church will hold a candle-lighting ceremony for National Children’s Memorial Day. The ceremony is at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at 179 Fire Department Road, Wilson’s Mills.
