Gospel concerts

Union Hill African Methodist Episcopal Church, 51 Harrison Road, Wilson's Mill is hosting a Gospel Explosion concert 4 p.m. Jan. 29. Gospel artists include the Johnston County Fellowship Mass Choir, the male chorus of St. Peter Church of Christ Disciples of Christ, For Your Glory, praise dancers of Galilee Baptist Church and Angels in Christ, praise dancers of Union Hill AME Church.

Italian Supper

Grace Episcopal Church, 111 Lee Court, Clayton is having an Italian supper 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3; $8 per plate. Call 553-2810 for reservations.

Preschools host open house

Knightdale Christian Childcare Center, 7114-A Knightdale Blvd. is sponsoring an open house noon- 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4. This center is the only center in the area that offers first and second shift care and weekend care as well. Call 217-4449.

Preschool registration

Hocutt Baptist Preschool is now enrolling children for the fall (2012-2013) school year. The registration fee is $100 per child and the three-day program is $150 monthly. The five-day program is $245 monthly. Call Sherry Morgan at 553-9897 or email sherry@hocuttbaptist.com.

Free clothes

Members of Mount Vernon Christian Church want to help struggling families. They are in need of new or gently used items for children ages birth to toddler. Call Katie Sanders at 333-4029 for information about this donation drive.

Our Lord's Closet has new and used clothing, coats and durable medical goods. Schedule an appointment to shop through these free items on Sunday afternoons. To schedule an appointment, call 269-3453 and ask for Dave or Joan. All services are free, but by appointment only. Our Lord's Closet is an outreach ministry of Patetown Church of God.

Support groups

Holy Cross Lutheran Church is hosting a Divorce Care session 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Childcare is available and preregistration is required. The church is at 2920 N.C. 42 West. For information, call 938-0073.

The Church at Clayton Crossings Divorce Care classes are 7 p.m. Tuesdays in room 121 of the church, 11407 U.S. 70 Business West, Clayton.

Shiloh Baptist Church offers a grief support group for anyone dealing with the death of a loved one. This group continues until April 4 and meets Wednesdays from 6:30-8 p.m. Participants can enter the cycle at any time. A nursery and children's programs are also available if requested. Bible studies

Hope Church's Youth Group invites sixth to 12th-grade youths to a 13-session course that offers answers to biblical questions.
